What does it mean to Pay It Forward?
In the formative years of our youth, each of us had an adult that made a significant contribution in our life. Now we have the opportunity to Pay It Forward by investing in the youth of this generation to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Who knows what tomorrow may look like when we invest today!
How did we get here?
We have been blessed at Grace Point Church with an ever-growing abundance of youth who are eager to learn about what it means to be a Christ-follower. In 2007, it became clear that we were running out of space for our middle and high schoolers. So, on January 27th, 2008, we as a church entered into 30 days of prayer regarding our space challenges. Concluding the 30 days of prayer on March 2nd, we agreed to investigate the design and costs of a new facility.
Grace Point put a Building Team together to act as advisors for the Executive Pastor during this process. After much prayer, research, and many interviews, Timbercon Construction was chosen as the design firm. More research was done and ideas processed before a building design and floor plan were completed. The estimated costs to build and furnish the Student Center are $1,500,000.00. On September 16th, Grace Pointers had the opportunity to hear details regarding the facility and had an opportunity to ask questions and on September 21st, the Grace Point community voted to move ahead with build phase. God has brought unity within the church towards this decision, as the support has been overwhelming.
Where are we now?
We are excited as a community about this faith journey we are on. As we pledged to move forward with this building, we also pledged to commit time in prayer as to how God would have us respond. It's going to take all of us, listening to God, being obedient to His call, and stepping out in faith.
How are you going to Pay It Forward?
